TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Surefix Plumbing & Heating Group Limited

1. General
These Terms and Conditions apply to all works carried out by Surefix Plumbing & Heating Group Limited (“Surefix”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By accepting an estimate, quotation, booking an appointment, instructing us to proceed with works, or permitting works to commence, you (“the client” or “customer”) agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Estimates and Quotations
All estimates provided by Surefix are supplied as a guide to the anticipated cost of works and are not fixed-price quotations unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.
Estimates are valid for 30 days from the date issued unless otherwise stated.

Whilst we make every effort to provide accurate estimates, additional works, labour, or materials may become necessary due to unforeseen circumstances, hidden defects, access limitations, existing installation issues, or other factors not reasonably identifiable at the time of estimating.
Any additional works and associated costs will be discussed with the customer and agreed before additional work proceeds wherever reasonably possible.
Fixed-price quotations apply only to the specific works detailed within the quotation.

3. Call-Outs and Hourly Charges
Standard call-out charges apply to attendance, inspection, diagnostic work and the first period of labour as specified at the time of booking.

Additional labour, materials, parking charges, congestion charges, waste disposal costs, specialist equipment, or supplier charges may be chargeable where applicable.
Labour may be charged on an hourly basis or fixed-price basis depending on the nature of the works.

4. Materials and Parts
All materials supplied remain the property of Surefix Plumbing & Heating Group Limited until paid for in full.
Where customers supply their own materials, we accept no responsibility for faults, delays, incompatibility, manufacturer defects, or additional labour arising from customer-supplied items.
5. Access and Customer Responsibilities
The customer must provide safe and reasonable access to the property and working areas.

Surefix reserves the right to refuse or suspend works where working conditions are unsafe, hazardous, abusive, or inaccessible.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that vulnerable items, valuables, furniture, flooring, and decorations are adequately protected prior to works commencing.

6. Payment Terms
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due within 7 days of the invoice date.
Surefix reserves the right to request deposits, staged payments, or full payment in advance for certain works, materials, or specialist orders.
Failure to make payment by the due date may result in recovery action being taken.
We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue balances and recover reasonable debt recovery costs, court fees, and associated expenses where permitted by law.
For business-to-business transactions, statutory interest and compensation may also be claimed in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

7. Debt Recovery and Legal Action
Where accounts remain unpaid, Surefix reserves the right to:
-
suspend ongoing works;
-
withhold certification or documentation where legally permitted;
-
refer outstanding accounts to a debt recovery agency; and/or
-
commence legal proceedings to recover outstanding sums.
The customer shall remain liable for the outstanding balance together with any applicable court fees, enforcement costs, and legally recoverable expenses.
8. Cancellations and Missed Appointments
We reserve the right to charge for missed appointments, aborted visits, or cancellations made without reasonable notice where engineer time, materials, or travel costs have already been incurred.
Special-order materials or non-returnable goods may be non-refundable once ordered.
9. Guarantees and Warranty
Labour guarantees apply only to workmanship carried out directly by Surefix and are subject to:
-
full payment being received;
-
the system not being altered or tampered with by third parties;
-
proper maintenance and servicing being carried out where applicable.
Manufacturer warranties apply separately to supplied products and equipment and remain subject to the manufacturer’s own terms and conditions.
Guarantees do not cover:

-
existing system defects;
-
sludge, scale, corrosion, frozen pipework, or ageing systems;
-
misuse, accidental damage, neglect, or lack of maintenance.
10. Limitation of Liability
Surefix shall not be liable for:

-
pre-existing faults or defects;
-
unavoidable damage resulting from ageing, defective, concealed, or inaccessible pipework or systems;
-
delays caused by supplier shortages, adverse weather, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control;
-
indirect or consequential losses.
Nothing within these Terms excludes liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or any liability which cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

11. Emergency and Temporary Repairs

Where emergency or temporary repairs are carried out, Surefix cannot guarantee that such repairs will permanently resolve the issue unless specifically agreed in writing.

Further remedial works may be required.

12. Photographs and Records

Surefix may take photographs of works, installations, defects, or completed jobs for record-keeping, warranty, insurance, training, or evidential purposes.

Customer personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.

13. Force Majeure

Surefix shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform obligations caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, supplier shortages, traffic disruption, utility failures, accidents, illness, or acts of God.

14. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
